Network Systems Administration
This program introduces client and server operating systems, hardware, and the devices that connect them. Upon completion students will be able to demonstrate working knowledge and skills with various hardware and peripheral systems, such as: servers, workstations, network interface cards, and network cabling technology, and demonstrate knowledge of current networking technology and infrastructure design and administration, including: ms Windows 2000 Server/Workstation, client/server operating systems, Windows 2000 Server, Professional, Windows 98/Millennium, Windows 2000 Active Directory, solid internetworking, Local Area Networks (LAN) or Wide Area Networks (wan), including routers, switches, hubs, modems, other internetworking equipment as well as understand protocols such as Transport Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (tcp/ip), Routing Information Protocol (rip), Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (igrp), Enhanced igrp (eigrp), Internetworking Packet Exchange (ipx)/Sequence Packet Exchange (spx) and other protocols. Students learn network design, planning, managing, and troubleshooting skills, Website and Intranet management, installation and administration of Unix/Linux operating systems in a client-server environment and Apache web server.
